Anticipated Opening Date of May 2020
Cincinnati Sports Club, now in its 30th year of serving Cincinnati’s eastside, began construction of an Adult only outdoor pool, (for those 21 years of age and older), with a Poolside bar and Poolside café on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. This new pool will be the 8th for Cincinnati Sports Club, more than any other Club in the region. Anticipated completion for the project is May 2020.
1/13/20 - Now that's a hot/cool tub! The new hot/cool tub has been dropped into place. As you can see, it will be slightly elevated compared to the adult pool.
12/12/19 - Take a look at the updated photo gallery. You can really get a sense of the new pool with the bench seating and steps. The poolside cafe/bar structure is also taking shape. Weather permitting, work in December will focus on underground utilities, roof structure of the bar/cafe and pump house, installation of the hot/cool tub, pour concrete for the pool and install base for pool deck.
11/6/19 - The outdoor pool is taking shape. Welding continues to accommodate all the seating benches of the pool. The pre-fabricated hot/cool tub should be dropped into place this month. The outdoor cafe/bar is coming to life. The photo gallery showcases the new windows and the concept of food service for the family pool and the bar service area for the adult resort area.
10/1/19 - The dry weather is great for construction. The metal buttresses for the walls of the pool should be installed this week after the concrete foundation is poured. The new outdoor bar/cafe's foundation has been poured and concrete block is being installed. The pump house should be dug this week and poured thereafter. Catch basins and drainage pipes should be finished this week.
9/16/19 - The pool will be dug this week and the dirt hauled away. The pool contractor is scheduled to be on site the week of September 23. The tennis court access gate will be relocated to the northwest corner, near the crab apple trees. Friendly reminder to reduce automobile traffic in front of the building. All construction sites carry risk.
9/9/19 - Earth work continues this week. Actual construction of the new pool should begin later this month. The bike racks have been relocated to the front of the building.
8/30/19 - Members and guests who park in the Virginia Avenue parking lot - there
will be a walking detour beginning September 3 through the Platform Tennis Courts to access the Club. There will be increased truck traffic along the front entrance of the building. Please use the drop off lanes only when necessary. We encourage you to park in any of the Club lots and ask for your cooperation in reducing automobile traffic in front of the building. We apologize for the dirt and inconvenience.
Club Vision 2025 v2.0
Says Cincinnati Sports Club Club Manager Heather Luttrull, “The new Adult only outdoor pool is a continuation of the ongoing implementation of the Club’s long-term master plan, known as Club Vision 2025, as we strive to make continual improvements for our members. The new pool will provide a unique aquatic experience for adults, while providing more space in the main outdoor pool area for families. The two indoor saltwater pools and whirlpool paired with the current outdoor pool, children’s zero entry pool and splash pad will assure that we have a year-round aquatic adventure for all of our members.”
“The new pool will enhance our summer aquatic experience for adults, and its many unique features include: a new poolside bar and café, lounge pool with steps, shaded privacy cabanas, water fall and an adult-only whirlpool," adds Cincinnati Sports Club manager Heather Luttrull. "It truly will be an oasis for adults looking for a bit of relaxation or a summer staycation.”
Extended Pool Season
The new pool will have more flexibility in operational hours, says Luttrull, and lap swimmers will be able to use the pool for morning or evening workouts. They also hope to extend the season beyond the average summer months and into spring and fall.
Luttrull concludes, “We continue to differentiate ourselves from other facilities in town with our unique and wide variety of aquatic experiences for our very youngest to oldest members, and for both families and individuals. We truly have something for everyone.”
The Cincinnati Sports Club serves the eastside neighborhood community and its blend of membership (65% adult and 35% family) enjoys the unique combination of health, wellness and social activities for members of all ages.
