Community Events at the Club

Community Service Opportunities at the Cincinnati Sports Club

The Cincinnati Sports Club provides year-round opportunities for high school students to fulfill their community service requirements. We have a variety of events throughout the year where volunteer efforts benefit the community. Some organizations we serve are YWCA, Our Daily Bread, Winners Walk Tall, and Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. You can complete part or all of your requirements with the Cincinnati Sports Club.

The following is a list of events or programs where student volunteers are needed:
 

Novemberfest and Christ Hospital Health Fair (November)

Event Description: An annual event open to the public that has all the activities of an outdoor festival held on an indoor soccer field. This event has giant inflatables, program demonstrations, skill games, music, food, entertainment, interactive activities, the Christ Hospital Health Fair and more. This event has over 1000 attendees.

Requirements: Attend a minimum of 3 (one-hour) training sessions prior to the event and be required to work at least five hours on the day of the event.

Example of Duties:

  • Meet and greet customers

  • Assist customers at entrance and pass out programs

  • Direct customers to upcoming program demonstrations

Thanksgiving Food Drive (November)

Event Description: An annual food drive to benefit the YWCA victims of family violence.

Requirements: Work a minimum of 4 hours with the program coordinator. Example of Duties:

  • Decorate lobby display

  • Assist with sorting food items

  • Assist with putting together the gift

Christmas Giving Tree (December)

Event Description: An annual Christmas Gift drive to benefit local school children in need from surrounding areas.

Requirements: Work a minimum of 4 hours with the program coordinator. Example of Duties:

  • Decorate lobby

  • Decorate the tree

  • Print name tags

  • Sort and label 


Swim Suit Drive (April)

Event Description: An annual swim suit drive to benefit local school children in need from surrounding areas.

Requirements: Work a minimum of 4 hours with the program coordinator. Example of Duties:

  • Promote in the lobby

  • Decorate the display

  • Sort and label

“Senior” Prom (May)

Event Description: In conjunction with Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, a charitable organization The Cincinnati Sports Club holds this annual event for the elderly. This event is open to the public. Members and nonmembers can volunteer or attend. Dinner, dancing, and prizes are provided. Over 250 attend this event.

Requirements: Attend a minimum of 3 (one-hour) training sessions prior to the event and be required to work at least five hours on the day of the event.

Example of Duties:

  • Assist with decorations and gift

  • Assist with set up the day of the

  • Meet, greet, and assist attendees into the

  • Assist with food and beverage service including running food, serving food, bussing tables and garbage

  • Assist with

  • Encourage attendee participation in activities including dancing and

  • Assist with breakdown of the
